Hi,

I've used the modder tool successfully on home hub (now using 6.2.2.6 HH firmware) - [great tool - thanks!] but I'm not using ADSL (I have a cable connection).

Currently my (Cable) internet connection goes to a cable router, which goes to a simple switch and a Wireless access point is in one of the ports of this, and a Zoom ATA in another.

Ideally I'd like to replace the ATA, router, (and maybe wifi receiver) with the modded HomeHub.

Do you think I'd be able to put the hub in place of the router to do all of the following simultaneously using an Ethernet internet connection on Ethernet1 (not dsl), and a simple network switch on Ethernet2:

1. ATA to allow sip calls via voipstunt (Betamax) using DECT and attached wired phone
2. Passthrough of landline (press 5 for POTS dial tone), and
3. Use the HH as an additional/replacement WiFI access point
4. Answer DHCP requests on my network

So far, I've put in my SIP provider's details, but i think the HH wants to use ADSL, so there is no dial tone - how do i stop it trying to do anything on the DSL side?

Hope this all makes sense,

Matt

Hi there, you may want to try this, it seems to do exactly what you want with regards to cable routing
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/BT+Home+Hub+as+voip+wireless+Cable+router

As for VoIP, you may be able to just apply 'other VoIP provider' hack when the cable routing mod has been done, and it may work. If not, you may not be able to use it as a cable router and ATA at the same time, but you can make it a standalone ATA by using the RouteInternally hack along with the Other VoIP Provider option.

Glad you liked the tool, do you have any suggestions for the next version?

Thanks for that link - I think I've seen it before, but wasn't too sure as it says v1.5 and I have a HH version1. I'll have a go and post my results once i get a chance to tinker with it `:)`

I'm not sure what you could add to the tool (other than a way for me to do exactly what I've described! `;)` ) Seriously though, maybe you could look into allowing firewall or port forwarding rules to be added or something like that? (not sure if that's feasible, just a thought..)

I'll try and add the cable router one, it might be quite neat =)

If you don't mind, that would be great to have a second tester. I'll let you know when I release a version for testing (if I ever do, I'm so busy at the moment with A-Levels `:(` )
